Frequently Asked Questions
Is this background remover really free?
Yes — completely free with no limits. The AI model runs on your device, so there are no server costs to pass on and nothing to charge for.
Does the image get uploaded to a server?
No. The neural network runs entirely in your browser (WebAssembly). Your image never leaves your device — watch the Network tab while removing a background and you will see zero uploads.
What happens the first time I use it?
The AI models download once on first use (Quick ~4.6 MB, Precise ~44 MB — only the one you pick), then stay cached on your device. Everything after that works fully offline.
